OUR PSSR COFFEE MACHINE EXAMINATION
It has been a legal requirement since 2000 to conduct a thorough PSSR boiler check on your coffee machine every year, and failure to do so may void warranty and invalidate your insurance.
Both liquids and gases can be described as fluids which may exert a vapour pressure. Coffee machines have a working temperature of around 100 degrees Celsius and above, which means that they fall within the terms of this law.
Continued use of an espresso coffee machine fitted with a steam boiler without such testing will put you in breach of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations of 2000, and this will invalidate any comprehensive insurance claims in relation to incidents involving that machine.
Coffee boilers which have a pressure vessel, such as cappuccino makers, cause steam and are therefore liable to the requirements of PSSR laws. Get in touch with us if your machine is due for its certification. This is a statutory requirement and ensures the safety of the pressure system inside your coffee making equipment.
Under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations of 2000 you have a statutory duty to meet the requirements of this law if you have a coffee machine which is over 14 months old. This is a risk that you will certainly wish to avoid.
